The Belgrade Motor Show has always reflected global automotive trends, but 2026 will be remembered as a turning point when the East did not simply knock on the door of the European market, but opened it wide. Among the many exhibitors beneath the domes of Belgrade's renowned automotive venue, one stand attracted unprecedented attention – Chinese giant Foton made an impressive appearance, demonstrating strength, technological progress and an uncompromising vision for the future of transport.
Foton did not come simply to be seen; it came to provide answers to the challenges of modern logistics, demanding terrain and environmental sustainability. Its range was divided into three key segments, each defined by innovation and robustness.
The first impression – and perhaps the most striking – came from the pickup models. The Tunland series dominated the stand, projecting a level of strength rarely seen among lifestyle-oriented urban vehicles. The Tunland G7 attracted visitors looking for the perfect balance between a workhorse and a family vehicle. Its sharp styling and high level of finish clearly demonstrate that China is no longer trying to catch up with the competition, but is setting the pace. One step above were the giants – the Tunland V7 and the flagship Tunland V9. Equipped with state-of-the-art driver assistance systems and luxurious interiors reminiscent of premium passenger cars, these models showed that a pickup is no longer simply a vehicle for muddy roads, but also a symbol of power and reliability. The V9 was particularly impressive; its imposing front grille and hybrid powertrain signal a new era in which strength no longer has to mean excessive fuel consumption.
Next came the light commercial vehicle segment, where Foton demonstrated its strength in electric mobility. Vans have become an essential part of every modern economy, and the eView and eView Grand offer exactly what the Serbian market is looking for – generous space and low operating costs. While the eView is ideal for urban deliveries, its “Grand” variant offers a level of comfort that can easily be compared with high-class passenger vehicles. However, the real stars of the stand in this segment were the eToano Pro and the futuristic Wonder. The eToano Pro was presented as a premium solution for passenger transport and VIP transfers, while the Wonder, true to its name, attracted considerable attention with its modularity and science-fiction-inspired design, tailored to the requirements of last-mile delivery in congested urban centres.
However, Foton's true strength has always been in the heavy-duty segment, and visitors in Belgrade had the opportunity to see the peak of its engineering expertise in the form of its truck range. The electric eAumark set new standards for urban freight transport, demonstrating that quiet operation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand with high payload capacity. For traditionalists, as well as businesses requiring maximum range and flexibility, the diesel Aumark was also on display – a proven machine that has built a reputation over the years as a durable and dependable workhorse on roads around the world. The highlight of the exhibition space was the eAuman, an electric heavy-duty truck with an imposing presence. It demonstrates that electric heavy-duty transport has become a reality, offering the range and power required to meet the demanding standards of modern industry.
The 2026 Belgrade Motor Show clearly demonstrated that the landscape of the automotive industry is changing. Foton arrived in Belgrade not as a guest, but as a leader that understands the requirements of the modern era. Its vehicle range – from powerful Tunland pickups and intelligent vans such as the eView Grand to the imposing eAuman – offers solutions that combine environmental responsibility, economic efficiency and striking design.
Visitors left the show with a clear message: the future has arrived, and it carries the Foton badge. The brand has successfully combined Chinese efficiency with the requirements of Serbian businesses and drivers, leaving a lasting mark on the history of the Belgrade Motor Show and paving the way for an even stronger presence on roads across the Balkans. Judging by what was presented, Serbia's roads are set to see many more of these reliable vehicles in the years ahead, with Foton establishing a strong position in the commercial vehicle and pickup segments.
